How the concept works

Four coordinated movements. One simpler cleanup goal.

The concept separates solid-waste handling from the urine-absorbing portion of the brief, with caregiver-controlled actions for each stage.

Create clearance

A rear loop helps a caregiver gently move the brief away from the wearer before cleanup begins.

Lift the panels

A separate pull action is designed to raise both soft containment panels away from the wearer before they move inward.

Close and overlap

The first panel closes and is retained before the second panel overlaps it to surround the removable section.

Remove only what is needed

The contained section is intended to lift away while the urine-absorbing base remains in place and functional.

Two controls. Two different jobs.

The upper rear-clearance loop moves the chassis away from the wearer and helps establish a retained gap. The separate lower bridge handle then actuates panel lift and closure. The two controls do not connect to one another. A rear three-quarter body reference shows where the brief sits and how the loop pulls the rear waistband away from the wearer.

Prototype-stage description

Two separate caregiver actions—without speculative mechanism pictures.

The rear-clearance loop and the separate pull handle are on different ends of the brief and perform different jobs. They do not connect to one another.

Final materials, dimensions, and movement will be confirmed through physical prototyping. Detailed internal mechanisms are intentionally not illustrated here.

Why this work matters

Care should protect dignity on both sides.

Bowel-care cleanup can be physically demanding, resource-intensive, and deeply personal. SaniBottoms is being developed to make that process more contained, manageable, and dignified for caregivers and wearers.

Where we are now

Moving from protected concept to physical prototype.

A U.S. provisional patent application has been filed. The next milestone is a nonclinical proof-of-motion prototype using representative soft-goods materials.
